VINYASA >
Life is flow. We live life by going with the flow and not against it. Just as it is in Ashtanga Yoga, it is a flow where we learn to transition from one pose to another. The word „Vinyasa“ means brath-synchronised movement.
With the Vinyasa, we learn to connect each asana with the next asana while increasing our energy
The sequence is designed in such a way that every student is prepared to do his vinyasa. From the use of the Bandha to the breath, every movement is explained in order to show the dynamic found in a Vinyasa.
BACK BENDING >
they they that difficulty in back bending is usually associated with the difficulty to let go our unpleasant past experiences. This is why we find it hard to learn to face fire with an open heart learning to love the self more. In this class we learn to properly execute back bending asanas (upper. middle, lower back) This ensures that each pose is done with almost care and beneficial to every student.
Most importantly, this class teaches each student the confidence to accept the self and the challenge every stdent to become the best they could be.
HIP OPENING >
Most people would say that this is one of the hardest classes taught in our school. However a lot of the poses in our practice require an open hip, through this class we get imporve a lot in our asana practice.
Most especially this class will also help in preventive and corrective alignment in our body.
As how Sri K. Patthabi Jois would say „Do your practice and all is coming.“!
……………….
Balu’s Yoga journey began in 1998 when he was introduced to his mentor, Swami Kuttiyandi, by his father. After 4 years of practicing under the supervision of Swami Kuttiyandi he was chosen to be his assistant teacher for the following 3 years.
To deepen his Yoga studies Balu went to North India, Himachal, where he continued to practice and work as an assistant teacher. Balu’s spiritual journey led him to Varanasi and Rishikesh before he settlee in Mysore for 2 years to work as an assistant teacher and to intensify his practice and his studies.
In 2009 Balu opened his own shala in Arambol, GOA. He continues to travel in India for teaching and practicing and he also regularly travels outside India to teach workshops, retreats, festivals and also teacher trainings and adjustment courses.
Balu believes that our body is a gift and a vehicle that we use for our journey through this life. This journey provides an opportunity to become a better person and thereby find our true self.
