Ein Tag mit Sundaram

Sehr besonders: Mantra-Yoga- u. Nada-Yoga-Workshop

Rückblick: July 17th – July 21st, 2019 in Cologne
Ashtanga Yoga Workshop with Rolf + Marci Naujokat from Goa

I am overwhelmed and very grateful that Marci and Rolf, my teachers and dear friend from Goa, are coming to Cologne. Rolf was here in 2006/2007/2008, now he comes back after all these years, together with Marci!

Rolf Naujokat began his yoga studies in North India in 1975 with Japa Kriya, traditional Hatha Yoga and Pranayama. He was certified to teach the Ashtanga Yoga system by his Guru, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, in 1996 and practiced the fourth series. Beginning in 1990, he studied in Mysore for 3-6 months of every year for 16 years.

Marci Naujokat began practicing Yoga in 1990, studying intensively under Rolf Naujokat, Maty Ezraty, Chuck Miller and Senior Iyengar teacher, Gabriella Giubilaro. Her teaching integrates the Ashtanga system with specific opening techniques to gently and effectively release habitual patterns and tension held in the mind-body system. This process is rooted in non-aggression and compassion towards Self and allows insight into deeper and often inaccessible areas of the body. For those with injuries or physical limitations, she adapts the practice to their individual needs.

It is a very rare occasion. There is the possibility to book two single parts, or complete. If there is space in the afternoon, Marcis classes can also be booked seperately. They are open for everyone, for the Mysore classes you should know Ashtanga primary Series to Navasana min.

Ashtanga Yoga + Yoga Workshop with Tomás Zorzo from Oviedo, Spain

Asana Practice | Pranayama | Philosophy, Ethics and Practice  |

Just live here in Cologne · no zoom, non-hybrid, just live:

PLEASURE AS A SPIRITUAL PATH.
Tantric meditations for the healing and well being.

The function of tantra is to transform all pleasures into a transcendental experience and channel the energy of your enjoyments on a fast path to fulfillment.

During this workshop we will explore our unhealthy relationships with pleasure and how to open ourselves to what provides true power, serenity and love. Also how to increase our awareness and connection with the body and mind through asanas, pranayama and various tantric meditations using the senses and noticing the sensations that arise at an internal and external level.

Just so there are no misunderstandings, tantra has many levels, including a physical one.

What is often associated here in the West with tantra alone, the purely physical sexual level, is NOT the subject of the workshop.

Our workshop is about philosophy.

Please note that we will have to raise the price, it is within reason, a middle ground.

We are very happy to see each other here again to do yoga together. Great pleasure.

Please note that if we have to cancel the workshop at short notice due to changes, we will of course refund the course fee in full, but no further refunds.

Tantra is a cross-religious spiritual movement that views the universe as an interplay of consciousness and energy. It is a practice that helps to go beyond the boundaries of the physical and thus free ourselves from the shackles of our limitations. Yes, it is also physical, among other things, but only to transport the being into higher dimensions. (©yogaeasy)

VINYASA >

Life is flow. We live life by going with the flow and not against it. Just as it is in Ashtanga Yoga, it is a flow where we learn to transition from one pose to another. The word „Vinyasa“ means brath-synchronised movement.

With the Vinyasa, we learn to connect each asana with the next asana while increasing our energy

The sequence is designed in such a way that every student is prepared to do his vinyasa. From the use of the Bandha to the breath, every movement is explained in order to show the dynamic found in a Vinyasa.

BACK BENDING >

they they that difficulty in back bending is usually associated with the difficulty to let go our unpleasant past experiences. This is why we find it hard to learn to face fire with an open heart learning to love the self more. In this class we learn to properly execute back bending asanas (upper. middle, lower back) This ensures that each pose is done with almost care and beneficial to every student.

Most importantly, this class teaches each student the confidence to accept the self and the challenge every stdent to become the best they could be.

HIP OPENING >

Most people would say that this is one of the hardest classes taught in our school. However a lot of the poses in our practice require an open hip, through this class we get imporve a lot in our asana practice.

Most especially this class will also help in preventive and corrective alignment in our body.

As how Sri K. Patthabi Jois would say „Do your practice and all is coming.“!

……………….

Balu’s Yoga journey began in 1998 when he was introduced to his mentor, Swami Kuttiyandi, by his father. After 4 years of practicing under the supervision of Swami Kuttiyandi he was chosen to be his assistant teacher for the following 3 years.
To deepen his Yoga studies Balu went to North India, Himachal, where he continued to practice and work as an assistant teacher. Balu’s spiritual journey led him to Varanasi and Rishikesh before he settlee in Mysore for 2 years to work as an assistant teacher and to intensify his practice and his studies.
In 2009 Balu opened his own shala in Arambol, GOA. He continues to travel in India for teaching and practicing and he also regularly travels outside India to teach workshops, retreats, festivals and also teacher trainings and adjustment courses.
Balu believes that our body is a gift and a vehicle that we use for our journey through this life. This journey provides an opportunity to become a better person and thereby find our true self.
